The Bonny Lass with the Green Hair

My turn for our second House of Gilli challenge. Our Hostess with the Mostess, anaRy, (and it being March) challenged us to use green. The Gilli I selected for my project is Burlesque Gilli, and I definitely used green! LOL  This was another fun one! Do some of you remember the movie The Boy with the Green Hair? This is where I got the idea for the green hair.

The cardstock I used is from Stampin’ Up! in Basic Black.  The designer paper I purchased from Michaels and it’s the Amy Butler series from K&Company. I also used the Spellbinder’s die in the Large Deckled Rectangles. The deckled edges were enhanced with Smooch Ink in Kiwi and Illuminate.

As everyone knows by now I purchase most of my supplies from StampingScrapping.com. These partners have some of the best variety and prices and definitely the best customer service. Go check them out!

My flowers I used are from the Little Flower Pack. These are so fun! You color them to match your project.  I used two sizes and colored them with Copics in YG21 and W02, and then sprayed with Glimmer Mist Pearl. The skeleton leaves are from the “Color Me Series” also. I sprayed them with Glimmer Mist Sweet Clover.  The other embellishment is the green Magnolia Shabby Chic Chandelier Garland.

Other challenges for Burlesque Gilli:

Jeans Gilli goes Green

This week at the House of Gilli, we are going Green!!! And, here is my card for this weeks challenge. Well, this was kinda a hard challenge for me, as I do not use a lot of green, so I had to search through my paper collection to find something "Just right". Well, I think I did just that!!! I used my Graphic 45, Once Upon a Springtime paper, and I just LOVE the way this card came out.
I used Jeans Gilli for this card, and I think she might be my favorite. Who am I kidding, they are all my favorite!!!! LOL Pop on over to Stamping Scrapping and pick some up for yourself, I know you are going to LOVE them!!! I love Jeans Gilli, as she can be used for so many different occasions, so I made an ALL OCCASION card to show that off. I also added the Gilli Flower Border to the outside of my image panel. I stamped it with Antique Linen Distress ink an then distressed the edges.

If you want more details on my card, you can pop over to my blog and check it all out.
I hope you will break out those green papers and join us for this weeks challenge. I cant wait to see all your Gilli creations!!!!!

Irish Eyes

Hi Gilli Fans,

Today it is my turn, Stephanie, to show you my creation for our Green challenge. Well, since this is March and the theme is green what would you expect the two to become if you are in the US? St. Patrick’s Day right? Well, that is pretty close to what I did.

So, for the outside of my card I used the Paper Doll Dress Up Cricut cartridge for the Shamrock and the pot o’gold. For the font I used Mickey Fonts.  I sanded the shamrock and the pot with my sanding block

I colored the gold in the pot with Gold Smooch. Looks pretty good I think, nice and bright.

Here is the inside. I chose to use Burlesque Gilli for my image, she just screamed Irish to me so I thought she would be a perfect fit and of course she had to have red hair. Red heads look awesome in green!

Here’s a close up

Her hat is from the Paper Doll Dress Up Cricut cartridge  and I used more smooch on the hat and the gold accents on her outfit. The Shillelagh (Irish stick) I drew. I used the following Copics:

  • Skin – E11, E00, E000, R20
  • Outfit – G28, G24, G21, N8, N6
  • Hair – E09, E07, YR09

Thanks for stopping by the House of Gilli. There is still time to stamp out your Gilli image and enter our green challenge, we would love to stop by and visit!
