Irish Eyes

Hi Gilli Fans,

Today it is my turn, Stephanie, to show you my creation for our Green challenge. Well, since this is March and the theme is green what would you expect the two to become if you are in the US? St. Patrick’s Day right? Well, that is pretty close to what I did.

So, for the outside of my card I used the Paper Doll Dress Up Cricut cartridge for the Shamrock and the pot o’gold. For the font I used Mickey Fonts.  I sanded the shamrock and the pot with my sanding block. 

I colored the gold in the pot with Gold Smooch. Looks pretty good I think, nice and bright.

Here is the inside. I chose to use Burlesque Gilli for my image, she just screamed Irish to me so I thought she would be a perfect fit and of course she had to have red hair. Red heads look awesome in green!

Her hat is from the Paper Doll Dress Up Cricut cartridge  and I used more smooch on the hat and the gold accents on her outfit. The Shillelagh (Irish stick) I drew. I used the following Copics:

• Skin – E11, E00, E000, R20
• Outfit – G28, G24, G21, N8, N6
• Hair – E09, E07, YR09

House of Gilli Challenge #2 :: Use Green!

Hello everybody!!! Here we are again with a brand new challenge for you!!! The very fist Gilli challenge was just so much fun!!! So let’s make this one a even bigger party…Spread the word! We have a few surprises!
House of Gilli Challenge #2 calls for one thing….easy breezy…USE GREEN! Yeap…put a little bit of this very eco friendly color in your creation and link over here! We will love to see you around!!! You can use any stamp for your creation BUT if you bring your Gilli you get DOUBLE chance to win! This is just too easy : )….just kidding…well it is : ).
Let me tell you now about my little project…St. Patrick’s day is around the corner and Gilli literally put on the TEE! Yeah she is dressed in green! Well, according to recent tradition you must wear green and be merry! Now if someone dare not to dress for the occasion ..you can pinch them! For real! Okay not too hard : ). I created this little Gilli St. Patrick card..that actually carry a little surprise…a cupcake!!!!!!!!!!! What is better then a cute cupcake with green buttercream to make someone happy? LOL…The cool thing is that this project idea can also be used as a nice place setting or a little goddie basket for your guest on a St.Patrick themed party!

Gilli tee was colored with copic markers…I cut the balloon card by hand and used K&Company papers and white pen. The little balloon basket is made of Sizzix bigz die cut…the basket was also decorated with copic markers..The little clovers were made from cardstock with  pattern that I created and cut by hand. All the sparkles… Stickles! I will be adding more details of this project on Gilli blog a little later today…

1st House of Gilli Challenge!

Happy Monday and Welcome to the very first "House of Gilli" Challenge!  I am so honored to be the first challenger and I hope you will find time to participate in the challenge with us over the next two weeks.  This is an exciting new time for the Gilli DT, Anary the fabulous artist and owner and for our new Challenge Blog!

There will be a NEW CHALLENGE every 2 weeks here on this blog so make sure you bookmark this or become a follower on the sidebar!  During the 2 week challenge period the InLinkz will be at the bottom of this post for you to add your entries to.  This post will stay at the top during the 2 week period.

BUT WAIT---every day of the 2 weeks a member of the awesome Gilli DT will be posting their challenge project here on the blog so you can see new projects and get lots of fun inspiration!  So make sure to visit regularly and SCROLL DOWN to see all great projects each day!

House of Gilli Challenge #1

RECIPE CHALLENGE

-Use some form of Sparkle 

-Use 3 Patterned Papers

-Use at least 2 dies and/or punches

-You do not have to use a Gilli for this project
BUT IF you use a Gilli you get 2 chances okay ;)

(your entries must follow this recipe to be qualified)

What Can You Win?

-One Online Class of your choice at the Color Me Creative Classroom
(online classes include copic classes, distress inks class and cricut classes)
AND
-A Gilli Stamp of your choice!!

This Challenge will END on Feb. 27th (link at bottom of post)

Entries must be loaded by 10 pm EST on the 27th to qualify!

One (1) Winner will be chosen randomly and posted on the 28th along with a NEW CHALLENGE!

I was honored to be asked to be the Art Coordinator (aka helper for Anary, lol) for the Gilli DT and help Anary out with her fantastic new venture!  Also on board is Wini Bell as the DT Coordinator, she organizes all the gals for us thank goodness!

This is my project for the challenge!  I used "Burlesque Gilli" for my project, I think she's super sassy and so much fun!  A great gal card to send to a good friend dontcha' think?  You can find the whole line of Gilli Stamps at Stamping Scrapping HERE!   The papers are by Basic Grey called "Marjolaine"--I loved the color combo as I think they match a peacock feather perfectly!

I used the oval and scalloped oval Spellbinders Nestabilities to cut out my image and mat it.  The scrolls and feathery leaves were made with Marianne Dies sold exclusively in the UK.  The black lacy border piece was made with a MS border punch.  A few elegant black pearls finish off the card nicely.

And of course she is colored with Copics, my favorite coloring tool of choice!  I used Stardust Stickles on her peacock feather and ruffles/accents on her outfit for my sparkle.
