Gilli goes Green

Hello Everyone!  Welcome to the newest Gilli challenge.  It’s Wini from LooneyBugDesigns with your Gilli inspiration project for today.  In honor of St. Patrick’s Day, we would like you to use something Green on your project!  Pretty simple right?  Oh there are so many different ways you can incorporate green into your project.

My project features Jeans Gilli getting ready for spring!  While there is still a lot of snow on the ground here in Michigan, I am dreaming of springtime.  So I thought this would be the perfect project to bring a little spring time cheer.
Hop on over to my Blog if you are interested in more details about this lovely project.  But don’t forget to enter your GREEN project below for a chance to win a GREAT GILLI GOODIE!!  I can’t wait to see what you create!

I used Girly 2 Gilli for this fun project.  You can visit my Blog for all the details.

I am always willing to try new projects so today I thought I would try coloring with my Copics on fabric!  I know, I know – I am not the first to do this.  In fact I used this great video by Suzanne J. Dean as my inspiration for todays project.

I can’t wait to see what you make for our Anything Goes Challenge!!  Be sure to scroll down to the bottom of this page to enter your project into our Inlinkz below!

Stole Gilli

Hi Everyone!  It’s Wini from LooneyBugDesigns with your Red and Gold inspiration project today.  I choose Stole Gilli to showcase in red today.  I love how elegant she is.

It didn’t show up well in the picture but the cord is gold cord also.  I used a Gold Copic Spica pen to color her purse and shoes because we all need to have a little bling on our matching accessories, right?
I can’t wait to see what you create for our red and gold challenge!  Don’t forget to enter your project in the in Inlinkz at the bottom of the page.
Happy Holidays!

Graduate Gilli

Hi Everyone!  It’s Wini, from LooneyBugDesigns, with your Monochromatic Inspiration project for today!  I can’t wait to see what you create – be sure to scroll down to the bottom of the page to enter your project  into our challenge for your chance to win a great Gilli Goodie.

I used Graduate Gilli today.  I started with a piece of Glossy Paper and used my Paisley Impressabillities to create the background texture.  Then I added Alcohol Ink in Black and Silver Mixative to color the paper.  I added some black lace and some black I-Rock faux brads.  Some Black Recollections Mulberry Mini Roses (my favorite roses of all time) to anchor the card and add some more texture.  My scalloped oval is cut from silver foil and I used dimensionals to give it some added depth.

Mono

Gilli is colored with my Copics.  I sometimes struggle with getting enough dimension when I color with blacks – but I keep practicing.  I added some silver pen to accent some of the folds in the graduation gown.

I can’t wait to see what you come up with for our Monochromatic Challenge!

Thanks for stopping by today!  And don’t forget, if you would like to order some of your own Gilli stamps – just send an email to anary@anary.com and let her know what you are interested in!

Here is my project for you today…

texture stole gilli close

I always color my images but wanted to try something different.  I had some kraft paper left over from another project and decided that this was the project to use it on.  I simply stamped Stole  Gilli on the kraft cardstock and then used some FlowerSoft to add some color and texture to her hat and stole.  All the cardstock and DSP that I used are leftovers from other projects that I had in my scrap bin.  The corrugated piece is part of a box that I cut up and peeled the paper backing off to expose the texture.  The lace is some leftover trim that I thought added another nice texture element to the card.  The letters are chipboard letters that I covered with more scrap paper.  Here is a good picture of all the layers of texture on the card…

I hope you are inspired to try your had at a project using something recycled and some texture too.  Enjoy and don’t forget to enter your project in the Inlinkz below for your chance to win!

Welcome to Fall!

Today I was inspired by this great quote “What Pensive Beauty Autumn Shows“ by William Wordsworth.  It made me think of all the great fall colors and the feel of the autumn air.  Shopper Gilli seemed a perfect fit for this card.  I loved coloring her in earth tones with just a pop of color.

GilliShopperFall

I used my Copic markers to color her in.  You can see all the details and what colors I used on my Blog.

Introducing Parisian Gilli!

Hi Everyone!  It’s Wini from LooneyBugDesigns with your Polka Dot inspiration today.  I was SO happy when I opened my mail the other day and Anary had sent me a couple stamped images of the New Gilli’s and Oh My – They are so pretty!!  I thought Parisian Gilli would be perfect in Polka Dots!

Parisian Gilli

I used the new Parisian Gilli and colored her with my Copic markers.  The black frame and purple border are both from the Snowflake image on the  Elegant Edges Cricut Cartridge.  The Flower was made from the Sunflower1 and Sunflower4 images from the Flower Shoppe Cricut Cartridge!  So fun and easy to make!  The green is actually some ribbon from my stash.

I just love the way Gilli’s Polka Dot shirt ended up.  She is just so flirty and fun.

You can find more details on my blog.  Don’t forget to enter your Polka Dot project in the Inlinkz below.

Before I get to my project today - I have a VERY SPECIAL announcement for you!  This week at CHA the NEW GILLI'S will be announced!!  Yes that is right!! NEW GILLI'S!!!  They are being released on Tuesday, July 19th!!  Can you believe it??  New Gilli's!!

My sister is getting married soon, so I have been working with Bride Gilli quite a bit.  I want to put together a fun little Gilli gift for her.  So today’s project is a set of coasters.
Bride Coaster
These fun coasters are so easy to make.  I started with some tumbled tiles from Lowes and stamped Bride Gilli with StazOn ink.  Next I heat set it and then used Sharpie Markers to color her in.  Make sure you do not use your Copic’s when you use StazOn ink – as you can ruin your precious markers.  Now I wanted to make my coasters water proof – so after coloring them – you need to bake them in the oven for about 15-20 min.  That is it – no sealer needed!  I have made tiles like this before and have had no problems with them bleeding or running when wet.  My sister lives in South Carolina so it is important to have a coaster that will not run when she sets her ice tea glass on it.
Bride Coaster close
The tumbled tiles have grooves and flaws in some of them – so be sure to pick ones that fit with the theme you are wanting.  Here is a close up of some of the tile.
I can’t wait to see what you make!  Don’t forget to enter it below!!

I started with Lady Gilli and added some bling with my Spica pens.  I love how versatile Gilli is.  You can add as much extra detail as you want – I love that.

Lady Gilli

A lot of the bling on this very subtle, but I really like what it adds to the project.

Ribbons and Bows with Tee Gilli

Hi Everyone!  It’s Wini from LooneyBugDesigns with your Ribbons and Bows inspiration post for today!  Be sure to scroll to the bottom of the page to enter your project in this  challenge to win a great Gilli prize!!

TeeGilli

I just love how fun and flirty Tee Gilli in her hip jeans is!  I decided to use a flower ribbon bow with a pearl center to brink out the blues in her jeans.  The orange accents bring out her pretty red hair (inspired by my youngest daughter).  All the papers (including the dictionary page) are odds and ends from my stash – I love it when I can create a fun layout with my scraps!

Thanks for joining us today at the House of Gilli and I can’t wait to see what you create for our Ribbons and Bows challenge!

Lots of Layers and Faux or Real Stitching

Hi Everyone, it’s Wini from LooneyBugDesigns.  I am so honored to be hosting this new challenge here on the House of Gilli!  I wanted to try something new for me so I picked Lots of Layers and Faux or Real Stitching.  I hope you have as much fun with this Challenge as I have had.

I wanted to try something new, so I made a cute little needlepoint box (for my stitching) and added layers with the cute blue and yellow needlepoint flowers and a little Gilli Charm.  I love the dimension that the different stiches on the box add also.

Gilli Box

I seem to be addicted to Shrinky Dinks lately – they are so much fun!  I love to watch them shrink up and become so small.  I colored Tee Gilli with my Copic markers on Shrinky Dink Plastic. Then used my Grand Calibur and Labels 14 dies to cut her out.  About a minute in my toaster oven and I have this cute little Gilli Charm.  A few beads and I have a little embellishment to add another layer to my box.

Gilli Close

I can’t wait to see what you come up with for our challenge.  Be sure to enter your project above.  Remember if you use a Gilli in your project, be sure and post it at the House of Gilli Yahoo group and the Gilli Gallery on Flickr.

BoHo Gilli

Hi!  It’s Wini from LooneyBugDesigns with your Stripes and Bling inspiration card for today!  I am so happy to be back with you!

I decided BOHO Gilli would be perfect for a striped card with her adorable hat.  I even added some stripes to her tank top.  Just to change things up a little I used my Grand Calibur and my Labels 1 Dies to cut my Basic Grey paper and decided to use only part of Gilli.  I really like the way she turned out – what do you think?

Gilli Stripes

I used my Scor-Pal to add some more stripes to the background of my card.  For her bling I added some Crystal Gems to her earrings and belt buckle using my I-Rock tool and some Smooch Illuminate to the ball on her hat.  Some SSD Orchids, pearls and ribbon finished it off.

I can’t wait to see what you create –  you don’t have to use a Gilli but we would sure love to see you use one!

Stole Gilli goes Green

Hi Everyone!  It’s Wini from LooneyBugDesigns with your GREEN project today!  I have to admit, green is not a color I normally use other then for foliage.  So…. when I saw anaRy’s Green challenge,  I was a little nervous.  But I do love to  St. Patrick’s Day and all fun I have with my kids dyeing all our food green.  Well I decided that If I can dye food green in March I can make a Green Paper Creation.
GreenGilliArtistic1
I decided to make a different sized project.  This card is 3x5 1/2.  Something different.  Stole Gilli is all dressed up for a St. Patrick’s Day party.  Her lovely green and brown dress with matching stole, cap, hair accessory, purse and shoes.  I love all her accessories.  Her pretty Irish red hair sticking out from under her cap is so cute!  I colored her with my Copic Sketch markers and added a few white highlights.
I stamped the You and Me on a Frou Frou Tag and added a few Crystal Gems with my I-Rock.   Gilli is resting on a Color Me White flower (highlighted with a green Copic) and an Anglaise Lace Circle die.
I can’t wait to see your Green Project!  Be sure to enter it into the Inlinkz above this post – and remember you don’t have to use a Gilli but if you do you will not only get 2 entries into the random draw but will also be considered for a Guest Designer spot for our next challenge!!!

Jeans Gilli is on the Move!

Hi Everyone!  It’s Wini from LooneyBugDesigns here to share some more Gilli inspiration with you on this lovely Sunday!  So have you been having fun with this first challenge?   Are you exploring the possibilities with this amazing recipe that Suzanne Dean created for us?  3 patterned papers, at least 2 die cuts or punches and some form of sparkle.

I wanted to use Jeans Gilli for my project today but….  I also wanted to do something a little different.  So instead of creating a card for you today I created a way for Jeans Gilli to travel everywhere with me.  Would you like to see?

GilliCollage

For my “patterned paper” I decided to use different mediums.  To start my project off, I used a multi colored yarn to knit a cell phone bag (pattern #1).  Next I created a Flower Pin, to do this I created my own patterned fabric using the new Anglaise Lace Stamps and dye based ink for the flower petals (pattern #2).  The leaves were created by stamping more images from the Anglaise Lace Stamps onto some of the flowers from the SSD Color Me White Flower Cup that I had dyed green using Glimmer Mist (pattern #3).  To finish off the pin I couldn’t resist adding a SSD Micro Rose into the center.

The flower petals are all Classic Scalloped Circles (die cut #1) that are folded and glued together.  My Gilli image is cut out using Spellbinders Labels 8 (die cut #2).  Finally my sparkle comes from the beads on the cell phone charm that I made to match the bag.

Jeans Gilli was colored to match the bag using my Copic Sketch Markers.  To make Gilli small enough to fit the cell phone charm I put her on some white Shrinky Dink material and then baked her in my oven.  She is so cute all shrunk down and and rocking her beads!  Because I didn’t want the finished product to be too dark and possibly not dry I colored her very lightly and made her quite pale.  She really does stand out in person – I wish you could see her!

Thank you so much for stopping by today!  I hope you enjoyed my Gilli Cell Phone Bag!  What will you create with our recipe?  I would love to see your project!  Make sure to enter your creation HERE for your chance to win our amazing prizes!
