Flowers to the little ballerina

Gilli Celtic_Black Swan_Cus
Hello! is in the House! Today is my turn to bring my project with flowers! I love ballet…and I have great memories of my classes. I holds a sweet spot in my heart for ballet ; ). My project using Gilli Celtic was inspired by the “Ballet The Swan Lake”. What a beautiful story…and the choreography is just divine.
Gilli Celtic_Black Swan F
Gilli Celtic was colored using copic markers. I used a series of Cs to create the base for the costume.  I added brush strokes using copic multiliners to provide the texture and volume in hope to create the feather feel ( more details how to go about it on my blog). My flowers are prima flowers and I used distress inks to give a more distressed look. I kept one flower white…it was way to symbolizes even when things around you seems that are not going in the right direction…keep your focus on the bright side. It is hard sometimes…but the white flower of hope always will the there for you  ; ). I hope you enjoyed my little project. I am sharing more tips and pictures on my blog….come over and you see how Gilli look when she put up her stage make up!
Huggies!

Dinner at Tiffany’s?

Dinner at Tiffany’s

P1110249_edited-1

Today I’m sharing a fun card for you with a lot of CLASS Smile  She reminds me a bit of Audrey Hepburn albeit what Audrey would’ve looked like going to DINNER in the movie “Breakfast at Tiffany’s”.  One of my fave color combos is hot pink and black—always fun and classy I think.  I used a fabulous Gilli stamp by my friend Anary called “Lady Gilli” – isn’t she a cutie pie!  This lil’ lady is for the current CHALLENGE here at the HOUSE OF GILLI—which is to use FLOWERS!  Make sure to scroll down to see all the DT gals beautiful projects!

P1110250_edited-1

The papers I used (loveee them) are from Echo Park “Be Mine”---they are wonderful to use and love the smaller prints, perfect for us cardmakers.  The sketch is from this week’s challenge Stamp With Fun—loved the multi-layers as I’m a bit of an layer addict myself, LOL.  The black delicate border was made with my MS border punch and the oval cut with my Spellbinders got embossed with a CB embossing folder (d’Vine Swirls).  The lacey flowers & leaves are actually paper that I die cut with some of my fave dies by Marianne Designs and topped with a Prima hot pink rose.  A few rhinestones finish it off nicely for a touch of bling!

P1110244_edited-1

This Gilli got colored with Copics RV17,RV14,RV10 (they don’t work well together so you have to use the bridging technique to make them blend) /C9,C7,C5,C3,C1/E11,E00/R20.  I gave her a black pearl necklace and earrings with a Viva Décor Pearl Pen in black.  And to make her dress look like it’s made with sequins it got a healthy does of Stardust Stickles!  She is glammed up for the nite for sure!

Black and Chartreuse

Hello Gilli fans!

Before I get started I want to thank Karen for taking up the slack for me on the last challenge. I had some family issues that came up and could not take care of that challenge. Karen jumped right in. Thank you, Karen, from the bottom of my heart!

Now onto my project. Black is one of my favorite neutrals to work with, so I had to choose a color that would make Lady Gilli pop. That color is chartreuse. This is not one of my favorite colors to wear (I turn chartreuse). I love this color when using my Copic markers. I also love Gilli and her many personalities. You purchase these little ladies at StampingScrapping.com.

The black cardstock is from SU and the designer paper is from Echo Park “For the Record.” The swirlies are from Magnolia Doohickey dies and I used Pearl Glimmer Mist to put some glimmer on them. Kevin and Suzanne at StampingScrapping.com are not going to carry the Doohickey dies any longer, but they do have a few still in stock. Catch them while you can. The ribbon and pearls are from my stash. The green roses from Wild Orchid.

I am so glad you stopped by and I hope you join us.

Black plus one

Hi, friends,

Today it is my turn, Stephanie, to show you my creation for the Black plus one challenge.

For my image I chose Renaissance Gilli.

009 (Small)

I so love this Gilli and I especially love coloring Gilli with red hair. I’m not sure why I like it so much but I often choose red as her color.

I used three different Spellbinders Nestabilities sets:

I used my Scor-pal to score the large heart circle. I cut two of these using my Grand Calibur and then pieced them together.

For my sentiment I used one of the small stamps from Stamping Scrapping Designs Frou Frou Tag set.

I hope you like my project and we would love to see yours so come on and join our challenge!

Congrats Grad!

Gilli Graduate_CongratsGrad ~

Hello people! in the house! My turn to bring a Gilli project using Black + One more color! Everybody having fun with the challenge? I had a load!

For this challenge I decided to create a card that I think is quite for the season…Proms and all are starting to happen…so as the graduations! Oh everyone is sooo proud of their achievements!Gilli Graduate_CongratsGrad cu

Gilli Graduate was colored with copics.  I follow the challenge rules I used only blacks and browns…(C and E). I was going for a more modern up to date graduate card  Smile.  The main paper (the certificate) is a cut out of a My minds eye paper (collection of printed kraft). I created a frame for the card layering a series of punched pieces (Martha Stewart) and adding a little bling (Stickles). To create a seal I used a cuttlebug embossing folder, cut around it and add a little stickles to it…to make it official I added a little looped ribbon.  After all the pieces were put together I layered the card over a folded piece of acetate to create a floating feeling : )..after all…graduation is a dream come true that makes you fly into your future!!!!

I hope you guys are enjoying the challenge! Stick around we have what more to come! Cannot wait to see what your creativity brings to the table!!

huggies,

anaRy

Romantic Gilli ~ Black + One Color

Hi!  My card for this challenge features the very lovely Romantic Gilli stamp.  Gilli's dress was paper- pieced, her sleeves got a coating of Star Dust Stickles, and she was colored with Copic Markers on Cryogen White cardstock.  I used a MS border punch along the top and bottom edges of the card; added Frosted Lace Stickles to the flowers and thread beaded wire though them. The flowers didn't photograph too well since there's not enough contrast; in real life the beaded wire is more dimensional not flat against the card.

I hope you will join us this week, and remember that the adorable Gilli stamps are available at Stamping Scrapping (a wonderful place to shop and super quick shipping)!  Thanks so much for stopping by, Ann

Black + One Other Color!

I chose Classy Gilli to go with my black + one. I colored her with prismacolor pencils and used my Grand Calibur  to cut out the Spellbinders ovals and parisian accents lace and corner pieces.  I then added a bow and a button and the card was complete!  I hope you link up your Gilli black + one card and play along with us!  : )

Black and Yellow,Black and Yellow

Hello Everyone,
I'm Dionne your Hostess this time around. Welcome to House of Gilli's Challenge #7 -USE BLACK AND 1 OTHER COLOR ONLY
Before any one gets confused by my title, if you have teens you may have heard the song. I just couldn't resist labeling it this:) I used Black and Teal on this awesome layout. I really am happy about how it turned out. I have spent a lot of time making cards and other gift items but I have tons of layouts that I need to do so I did this. I did a lot of stamping and sewing and a little embossing. Just in case anyone is wondering that little circle label really is a shade of teal not green.(I promise) I hope you enjoy, and please join in on the fun.

Easy Gift Bag Tutorial

Hi!  Karen here with a quick and easy tutorial on how to personalize a gift bag for that special someone.  It is a simple way to add a special touch to a gift without adding extra cost.

I start by using scraps of paper from other projects, a brown paper gift bag, and a colored Gilli image.

I then take the darker paper that I want for the matting and cut various sizes until it fills the side of the bag and adhere them to it.

Next, I cut different patterned papers 1/4" smaller than the matting size and attach them to the matting with adhesive.

I then attached the Gilli image and  I stamp floral designs with stamps from Stamping Scrapping.  I also use some various  rub-ons to finish it off.  This is a cute and fun way to use up odds and ends....and it's pretty and personalized too!!

Layers and Stitching Challenge

Hi gang, its me, Becca, here. It's my turn to show you my creation for our current challenge, Layers and Stitching. There are still a few days to enter, so bust out those Gilli stamps and get to creating! I hope you will be inspired by my card today, and come out and join us.
I chose to use October Afternoon Thrift Shop Paper and some Graphic 45 scraps I had in my stash, and pair it up with Nurse Gilli. I thought they made a perfect bright and cheery Get Well Card.
For my stitching, I used a faux stitching stamp from Crafty Secrets that I have had FOREVER. I love the way it looks, real from far away. I do not have a sewing machine, so stitching was a hard task for me. LOVE how this looks, and SUPER simple.
If you would like more details about my card, you can come on over to my blog HERE. I hope you will join us for our Layers and Stitching Challenge, I cant wait to see what you create with the adorable Gilli's.

Stitchin’ it Up

Today it is my turn, Stephanie, to show you my creation. I chose to use one of the new Gilli’s …… Cowgirl Gilli. She is so adorable.

IMG_1887 (Small)

I went way out of my comfort zone on this with the papers. It was hard for me to mix and match all of these patterns but it turned out just fine!

I cut and matted my paper and then sewed it on my sewing machine using three different stitches. After I colored Gilli with Copics I used my Grand Calibur to cut out my Spellbinders Labels 18.

Well, have you had a chance to check out the new Gilli’s available at Stamping Scrapping? They are just awesome!

Gilli Skater was colored using copic markers. As you can see her top has a little added touch. I used my copic multiliners to create a lace aplique feel to the body of her costume. I also created a romantic looking sleeves over her arm. This stamp is super great for you to customize her little outfit! Truly making you own. The layers on these cards were created using Spellbinder hearts elements and fleur de lis die cuts (one run in the grand caliber you are done lol). I also used StampingScrapping matching stamps Fleur de Lis and Heart elements, ain’t  they cute!? The embossing paper were created using Quickutz embossing folders (looove it!).  Sentiment was created using Frou Frou tag die cut and its matching stamp from StampingScrapping.

So Bring on your needles and papers…whatever else your heart desire! Join us! You still have a few days to get into this fun!

Huge hug!

Layers & Stitching Cowgirl Style

Today I get to share my Gilli card with you for the current challenge "Stitches & Layers"!  I will admit that I HATE sewing of any kind but I do like to see it on cards, always adds another layer of texture to the projects.  I used cutie pie "Cowgirl Gilli" for my project and kept the colors and textures very rustic & country :)  My stitching was done using a Sew Easy tool and then I hand-stitched the rustic twine (cream) thru and then inked the twine so it matched the papers using my SU inks and my Inkssentials Blending tool.

You can find more details on my blog (will be up May 5th) HERE!
Hurry and join in the fun to win a great prize!!

hugz,
Suzanne J Dean
