Trench Coat Gilli ~ Stitches and Layers

Hello!  I had so much fun creating today's Gilli card!!  I don't sew very much so the challenge of stitching was great for me ~ change of pace (you can do faux stitching if you prefer).  Some of my stitching got a bit wacky so I strategically placed some layers over certain areas, hahhahhha.  Great reason to have lots of layering for this challenge.  ;)  I made my card using the adorable Trench Coat Gilli and colored her with Copics, except for the umbrella which I paper pieced.  I used the Spellbinders Die Cut with Compatible Clear Stamps, and flowers all available at Stamping Scrapping.  I used a bit of Star Dust Stickles on her belt buckle and boot toppers, and Diamond Glaze on her belt, boots and umbrella handle.

I got into the idea of sewing and hand stitched on top of the circle part of the Die Cut Stamp.  DP used:  Basic Grey    Copics used:   coat ~ R89,85,83,81  boots ~ YG67,11, G14,12  hair ~ E25,31,50  skin ~ E000,00,R20
I hope you join our Challenge ~ Thanks so much,  Ann

Layers and Stitching Challenge!

I chose Florist Gilli and the Gilli Life is Good stamps for my card today.  I colored Gilli with prismacolor pencils and used Spellbinders and Doohickey dies for the mattings and swirls.  The butterflies were cut with the Indie Arts cartridge. A Martha Stewart border punch was used for the trim and I topped off the many layers with stitching on my sewing machine.  Hope you add you card to the link and play along!!  : )

Lots of Layers and Faux or Real Stitching

Hi Everyone, it’s Wini from LooneyBugDesigns.  I am so honored to be hosting this new challenge here on the House of Gilli!  I wanted to try something new for me so I picked Lots of Layers and Faux or Real Stitching.  I hope you have as much fun with this Challenge as I have had.

I wanted to try something new, so I made a cute little needlepoint box (for my stitching) and added layers with the cute blue and yellow needlepoint flowers and a little Gilli Charm.  I love the dimension that the different stiches on the box add also.

Gilli Box

I seem to be addicted to Shrinky Dinks lately – they are so much fun!  I love to watch them shrink up and become so small.  I colored Tee Gilli with my Copic markers on Shrinky Dink Plastic. Then used my Grand Calibur and Labels 14 dies to cut her out.  About a minute in my toaster oven and I have this cute little Gilli Charm.  A few beads and I have a little embellishment to add another layer to my box.

Gilli Close

I can’t wait to see what you come up with for our challenge.  Be sure to enter your project above.  Remember if you use a Gilli in your project, be sure and post it at the House of Gilli Yahoo group and the Gilli Gallery on Flickr.

Hugs, Wini

Stripes and Bling Challenge

Hi there! It's me, Becca. Happy Easter!!!!! I hope you are all having a great weekend, and ready to start a new week! It is my turn to post my card for this week's challenge, Stripes and Bling.
Well, I had so much fun making this card for this week's challenge. I chose to go with some K&Company Julienne papers, so pretty. I paired the papers up with Fairy Gilli, whom just looks gorgeous is these dusty pinks, I think. When I heard the word BLING in the challenge, all I could think of was Fairy Gilli, too perfect!!! LOL.
I kept the card design pretty simple as I wanted to showcase the image and papers. I used some sage green ribbon to tie two large bows to either side of the card. I think it makes it look very feminine and pretty this way. I used lots of Recollection gem swirls for the BLING on the card. LOVE it!!
Well, that is it from me today. I will let you all get back to your Easter ham/pie/candy, etc. LOL. If you would like more details on my card, please pop on over to my blog. I hope you will join us this week for our stripes and Bling challenge. I cant wait to see what you all come up with!!! Also, pop on over to Stamping Scrapping and pick up one of these adorable Gilli stamps for yourself. You will LOVE them, they are too cute and super versatile. Take care, and happy crafting!!!

Groovie Gilli Tee!

Gilli Tee_LetsBoogie~

Hello everyone! I am a little late with my post…oh life…lol. But here I am in time to show off my stripes and bling! I loved the idea of this combo. I was coming back and forth in which Gilli use…then I went looking through my papers and then Bling! The idea came. Okay I don’t know why but horizontal stripes screams end of 60’s early 70’s to me…and I picked the  vibe looking the papers..then the Gilli choice was easy…Gilli Tee with her bell bottoms would fit right in! Yeah!

Gilli Tee_LetsBoogie

Here you see Gilli Tee in a card to celebrate a grovie moment in somone’s life…It is a pretty all occasions card…One that we should have around for those “Emergencies” lol. Gilli Tee was colored with copic makers  exclusively. Just a tiny dot of white was added to create the eye.  Ain’t she a babe?! LOL. The pattern paper are from K & Co and the cardstock is DCWV. The cute little lace punch is Martha Stewart and the circle base is made of Spellbinder dies (Circle and scalloped). My sentiment was written by hand with copic multiliner and I the paper piece was cut with SU punch. All the flowers are prima.  Ribbon from my personal collection. All piece were distressed using distress inks. Gilli was stamped with memento on cryogen paper. All that blings…Stickles!

You still have time to enter our challenge! So get your groove going and bring on your colors, stripes and bling! Pretty easy!!!

Gilli Florist with Stripes and Bling!!!

Happy Saturday!!!  Today I present to you Gilli Florist for the fun stripes and bling challenge!  I stamped Gilli on Cryogen White paper and colored with Copics; all of which are available at Stamping Scrapping.

The gorgeous purple flowers are Stamping Scrapping flowers and I absolutely loooooove them!  I spritzed my flowers with a little shimmer spray because I love sparkles.  Here are the flowers I used ~ purple flowers ~ but they have a wide assortment of beautiful flowers!  I added some Star Dust Stickles to the flowers Gilli is holding for some extra sparkle, and added a little dragonfly to the bow for some extra bling.

I hope you will join us for this challenge.  Thanks so much for stopping by ~ Ann  :)

Stripes and Bling!!!

Hi!  I decided to do Bloomers Gilli for my stripes and bling card because her top was striped and it gave me a starting point.  I used my Scor-Pal to start my card base and colored Gilli with prismacolor pencils.  I then used  my Grand Calibur to cut the Spellbinders labels dies and the bows are from Stamping Scrapping Designs.  The palm trees were cut from the Oceans of Words cricut cartridge and the border punch used was by Fiskars.  I put stickles on Gilli's outfit and on the palm trees for the bling and finished it off with some stitching on the sewing machine.  I hope you all add your cards and play along!!  : )

BoHo Gilli

Hi!  It’s Wini from LooneyBugDesigns with your Stripes and Bling inspiration card for today!  I am so happy to be back with you!

I decided BOHO Gilli would be perfect for a striped card with her adorable hat.  I even added some stripes to her tank top.  Just to change things up a little I used my Grand Calibur and my Labels 1 Dies to cut my Basic Grey paper and decided to use only part of Gilli.  I really like the way she turned out – what do you think?

Gilli Stripes

I used my Scor-Pal to add some more stripes to the background of my card.  For her bling I added some Crystal Gems to her earrings and belt buckle using my I-Rock tool and some Smooch Illuminate to the ball on her hat.  Some SSD Orchids, pearls and ribbon finished it off.

I can’t wait to see what you create –  you don’t have to use a Gilli but we would sure love to see you use one!

Challenge No. 5 at the House of Gilli

Happy Monday everyone! I hope you had a great weekend. I did and it was very creative.

I, Aletha (some people call me AJ), am the hostess for the House of Gill’s FIFTH challenge. I challenge you to use STRIPES AND BLING. This should be an easy one.

Here at the House of Gilli, we thrilled to have such a great response to our new blog. I just wanted to say how much we appreciate all of the entries. This has been and will continue being so much fun!

I have had my Basic Grey designer paper picked out for over a month. When it caught my eye I knew it was for Boho Gilli from StampingScrapping. It screamed “Flower Power” or maybe “Girl Power.” Anyway, I thought, “You go girl!” I love bright colors!
I have also entered Boho Gilli in these challenges:
Craft Your Days Away – Spots and Stripes
Card Makin’ Mamas – Embellish It
Papertake Weekly – Anything Goes, but with something new (Boho Gilli rubber stamp)
By the Cute and Girly – Anything cute and girly

If you like, check out my blog, AJ’s Designs, for all the other details.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you join us!

And, if you use a Gilli in your little piece of art, be sure and post it at the House of Gilli Yahoo group and the Gilli Gallery on Flickr.

Have a great week!
Aletha

Relax my friend! Gilli Florist by Guest DT Marti Wills!

Today we have a very special guest in the house! The talented designer Marti Wills!! Gilli asked Marti a few quick questions for us to learn a bit about Marti and what she is up to!
· Name?
Marti {Pezadoodle}
· Your Blog Address…our friends will be visiting you.
 http://www.wordpress.pezadoodle.com
· How long have you been crafting and what are your favorite crafts?
I have been crafting for as long as i remember.  Paper and mixed media are my favorites.
· What do you like best about Gilli Stamps?
Unique, fun yet elegant look - love all the styles to choose from .
· Tell us a little about yourself.
I am a work at home mom with 2 grown boys and a 4 year old daughter.  I work as a designer for a number of paper crafting companies, co-own a crafting mini magazine, Through the Craft Room Door & I do digital design work for companies and private people.
Thank you Marti! Now let’s see what you created for us!
I created a little gift set to encourage some relaxation for a friend - it is an embossed metal bucket lined with a stamped napkin.  Then I filled it with a good book (Gate to Women's Country), a some scented lotion, a decorated candle and a card with a little pocket for tea inside.
The napkin was stamped using VersaCraft Ink pads and colored with Fabrico Markers - both can be machine laundered with no fading - even when using bleach or washing in hot water.  simply heat set with an iron when you are done.  The ribbon is attached with iron on Heat-n-Bond.  The pearls are done with Liquid Pearls.
The candle was a plain white candle.  I simply took Alcohol Ink and covered the candle.  then I adhered a ribbon around it and added some pearls with Liquid Pearls.
The adorable Florist Gilli on the card is colored using Prisma Colored Pencils.  i cut the panel on the front using The Elegant Edges Cricut Cartridges.  the pocket on the inside was cut using the Fabulous Finds Cricut Cartridge.
The two shimmering pink flower embellishments were made using Pardo Polymer Clay and a silicone mold.  They are quite easy to do - in fact they are so easy you can see 4 year old Pezza making them and showing you how in this video*!
* You will be able to see this adorable video tomorrow (Monday) at Marti’s blog!! You cannot miss! Little Pez is a whiz when it comes to crafts! Martha be aware! : )

WOW!!  Wasn’t Marti gift set fabulous?  I bet her friend will be very happy when she opens her gift basket!
Once more thank you Marti for sharing your talent and creativity with us over here at House of Gilli Challenge blog!
How about you?  Bring up your Gilli project! You might be featured right here in the HOUSE!!!

IMG_1822 (Small)
For my image I used Florist Gilli.  Isn’t she a cutie and a perfect fit for all the wonderful flowers on this card?
I used the new Spellbinders Heart Circles for the background behind Gilli and also for the inside of the card. I cut them out using my Grand Calibur. I also colored Gilli with Copics and made my bow with the bow easy, a wonderful tool that everyone should have!
IMG_1826 (Small)
Here is a pic of the inside, finished using the same process as the front and I used JustRite Birthday Card Kit for the sentiment and stamped border.

Gilli Girly in Spring Fever

Gilli Girly_Spring Fever~

Say yeah!!!!! I am a believer that spring will come full force soon! I caught spring fever and as you can see Gilli Girly is sooo ready for a stroll through the gardens!

I am dying to get some seedlings but I am afraid they will die..seems to be pretty cold outside…can you seasonal gardeners – zone 6…tell me when is a good temp to start a garden outside LOL?

Gilli Girly_Spring Fever FGirly was colored with copic markers (c1-3, R29, E 39-59) and I added a few touches of white pen to give some highlights. Did you take a peak on those lovely pearl earrings? The papers used  for this project are from My Minds Eyes and cardstock from my stockpile lol. I also used two punches…Martha Stewart (butterflies) and also Ek (combined 2 pieces in one shape Winking smile ). I distress all the paper cut outs with distress inks using the distress tools. For a little extra feminine touch…a created this pearl flower using 1/2 pearls , drop pearls…and ribbon (Ribbon & Pearl challenge from Becca!!! So feminine!). All that bling is Stikles!

Now tell me doesn’t she looks adorable in her flowy dress and a lovely red Mary Jane's? I love sewing and honestly…after I finish this card….I thought to myself…I need this dress! LOL…

You still have plenty of time to join us for the pearl and ribbon challenge…come one in….the house is all yours…and if you bring a Gilli project you could join us as a guest DT!! Shhhh..don’t tell anyone…but you get a surprise too…LOL

Gilli Ribbon and Pearls

Hi everyone!  Today I decided to use two Gilli stamps by Anary and mask them into one.  I used the Classy Gilli stamp and  masked it so I could use the head from Bloomer Gilli.  I love how feminine the up swept hair-do is on the Bloomer Gilli and I thought it would look so great with the suit on classy Gilli, especially with Easter and Mothers Day coming up.  I colored the images with prismacolor pencils and cut it out using the Grand Calibur with Spellbinders dies.  I used a Magnolia Doohickey die for the lace and the cricut Mini Monograms and Indie Arts cartridges for the scalloped circle and butterfly.  Added my ribbon, stick on pearls, and some stitching and she is ready to go.  Hope you are having a great day!  : )
